Ruitelan to Triacastela. Day 28

We weren't allowed to get up before 7:00. And we discovered why: we awoke to music (Ave Maria) and the smell of toast.
Breakfast was great: coffee hit chocolate toast and juice.
We weed tempted to take the horses up the mountain, but figured we would be taking a taxi down the mountain, so we should suck it up and suffer the climb. It was well worth it.
Pumpkins!
Ahhhh. The clouds
The forest.
Stop at the bar... We stopped for breakfast.
Fixing feet

Walking the mountains

We made it to Galicia!  That means we are getting to the last stretch to Santiago.

Mountain tops that look like they are floating in the clouds. From O'Cebrerio.

Leaving ' Cebrerip

This is one big pilgrim!
Stopped for a snack. Ancient loom still in use.
Getting ready to move on.
Interesting set of steps.

Crocus in the fall.

Amazing walks in the mountains though small villages. Great views. With the economy doing so poorly, the camino towns are doing well. There are so many pilgrims stopping for a coffee and a snack that the small bars/cafés do very well. They are a saving grace.

We've knicknsmrd Cindy both the camino angel and the camino pied piper. She helps everyone on the trail who needs help and people gather around her for the fun she inspires and instigates. Without her, Gary would not be walking.

As we move close to Santiago the camaraderie among us increases. We tend to toast more at communal dinners and an on seeing each other at the next stop. We seem to come together as one the closer we get.

Buen camino.
